Alta Skiing Alta Ski Area

Alta and pure, unspoiled skiing are synonymous.  Alta Resort's wide variety of terrain, breathtaking alpine scenery and superb snow conditions combine to create a unique setting for unforgettable experiences with family, friends, and the mountain itself. Alta Ski Area is a place where skiers have all the time in the world to feel both a sense of serenity in a pristine alpine environment, as well as a sense of excitement and fun in being outdoors in our clean mountain air. Located 25 miles southeast of Salt Lake City’s international airport, getting here for an Alta ski vacation could not be easier!

Alta Ski Area continues to offer a ski-only experience. We are one of three ski areas in the United States that does not allow snowboarding.

Alta enjoys a worldwide reputation for powder skiing. While deep powder snow, rugged terrain and spectacular scenery established Alta's fame, our best-kept secret is the great beginner and intermediate terrain available. Our mountain is 25% beginner, 40% intermediate and 35% advanced.
