The mission of the Alta Historical Society (AHS) is to maintain a quality walk-in facility which provides to the viewing public a clear and comprehensive historical perspective of Alta, both as a mining town and subsequently as one of the country's first and most widely acclaimed ski areas.
The Alta Historical Society maintains a permanent historic display at the Alta Library & Community Center. The AHS publishes a comprehensive history brochure documenting Alta's history and collects and catalogues Alta memorabilia.
