Mountain Biking at Alta

The trails in Albion Basin are steep, rocky and frequented by hikers. Some pleasant alternatives for mountain bikers are the service roads that wind through Alta Ski Area. Please note that the trail to Cecret Lake is a Forest Service-designated Interpretive Trail and is therefore not open to mountain bikes.

As a biker please observe the following:

• Ride safely and courteously.
  
• Help protect the natural vegetation. Avoid meadows and wet areas.
  
• Bicyclists must yield to all other trail users.
  
• Stay on designated trails and roads.
  
• Do not shortcut or ride cross-country.
  
• To help prevent erosion and trail damage avoid locking brakes and sliding down steep trails.
  
• Avoid wet or muddy trails.
  
• Ride or walk your bike over obstacles on the trail instead of around them. This will help prevent trail damage.
