Fear not Alta die-hearts. The snow might have stopped falling but Alta is still waiting for you this summer. For the first time in 80 years, Alta is open for summer adventures. Come explore the crown jewel of Little Cottonwood Canyon and see why Alta is world-renowned for outdoor adventure.
The Weekend is Sunny Side Up
The Sunnyside Lift will be spinning on weekends and holiday this summer. The lift will be open starting on June 30 and running until September 3, allowing your whole family from toddlers to grandparents to come explore the wildflower season.
Stroll up or down the side of the mountain to relive your favorite runs from last winter, or hop back on the lift for the best view in all of Utah. This is your opportunity to experience Alta in a whole new way. Don’t worry, you’re still welcome to hike from the Albion parking lot into the Albion Basin at anytime.
Get Out, Get Up, Get Moving
If you’re looking for more of an active weekend. Little Cottonwood Canyon has a ton of options for hiking trails, rock climbing, and even a few mountain biking options.
With so many trails available you’ll want to come back again and again. And don’t worry there are challenging trails for all skill levels.

After exploring, relax with friends and family with food, brews, and tunes. The Albion Grill will be serving a full menu of summer eats and tasty treats throughout the week. Plus everyone’s favorite coffee shop, Alta Java, will also be open on weekend and holidays through the whole summer!
If you really worked up an appetite don’t forget about the Sunday all you can eat brunch at the Alta Lodge. Pro tip: call ahead to make a reservation and save room for dessert.
You won’t want to miss Alta’s inaugural Saturday Live Music series. After your hike, grab a craft beer and sit back and enjoy local music. Everything from Blues and Folk to Funk and Reggae Bands will be performing every Saturday from June 30 – September 1.
